Helen Ella Dannhuas, 93, of Brenham, the widow of Raymond Dannhaus, died June 7, 2014 in High Hope Care Center. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Toby Burk officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation with t family and friends will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Helen was born in Wesley, TX. on April 9, 1921 to Otto and Ella Priesmeyer Flentge. She was baptized on July 24, 1921 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Wm. Utesch, and confirmed April 14, 1935 at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church by Pastor Wm. Utesch. On September 24, 1941, Helen was married to Raymond Dannhaus by Pastor A.J. Mohr. Helen worked at the Brenham Elementary School cafeteria. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, taught vacation Bible School, served as a sponsor for the Luther League, and was a member of the Ladies Aid. Helen''s hobbies were quilting and baking. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Leonard and Mary Dannhaus of Bryan, R.E. "Sonny" and Marsha Dannhaus of Brenham, and Don Allen Dannhaus of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law Betty and Mack Morris of Brenham; sister Mary Tockhorn of Brenham, brother and sister-in-law Milton and LaRuth Flentge; grandchildren: Mike and Aimee Morris, Kevin and Crista Morris, Shelley and Chris Harper, Brandon and Rachel Dannhaus, Amber and Kyle Pryor, and Dana and Scott Nathanson; great-grandchildren: Hannah and Meghan Morris, Hailey Breeding, Holden Harper, Hagen Dannhaus, Kason Dannhaus, Kori Dannhaus, Evie Nathanson and Ray Nathanson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brothers Otto Jr. and Ernest Flentge; sisters Dorothy Felscher, and Alma Wenzel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, brothers-in-law William Felscher, Ruben Wenzel, and Monroe Tockhorn, and a sister-in-law, Irene Flentge. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church or Brazos Valley Hospice.
