Helen Marie Kieke Emshoff, 80, of Brenham, died March 6, 2007, in Scott and White Hospital in Temple. Mrs. Emshoff was born January 26, 1927, in Thrall, Williamson County, Texas, to Alvin R. and Frieda Sommerfeld Kieke. She was baptized April 17, 1927 in Thrall and was confirmed March 29, 1942, in St. John s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Burton. Mrs. Emshoff was a graduate of Burton High School. On April 25, 1948, she was married to Bennie W. Emshoff in St. John s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Burton. Mrs. Emshoff was a homemaker, a member of St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton and a member of the Top Cats. Survivors include her husband, Bennie W. Emshoff of Brenham; son, Glenn D. Emshoff of Sugar Land; daughter and son-in-law, Linda C. and Gary Knipstein of Brenham; brother, Melvin F. Kieke of Houston; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elmo and Bertha Emshoff of Austin and Ruth Emshoff of Houston; aunts and uncle, Viola Giese, Esther Kieke, Fred and Ernestine Kieke and Lillian Palousek; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 8 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 9 at St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Rev. Glen Schoeneberg officiating. A graveside service will be at 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 9 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Floyd Wuensche, Charles Giese, Al Grohman, Bert Jaeger, Harper Muery and Darrell Palousek. Members of the Top Cats will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ Building Fund.
