Helen Grace Landua, 82, of Brenham, died July 1, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mrs. Landua was born September 10, 1922, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Claude Lee and Elva M. Thomas Yarbrough. She was baptized in the Baptist church. Mrs. Landua received her bachelor s degree from Baylor University and her master s from Rice University. In June, 1945, she was married to Alton John Landua in Houston. She was a former member of Faith Lutheran Church in Houston and later became a member of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Mrs. Landua was a school teacher in the Houston Independent School District. Survivors include her son, Christopher Landua of Glen Ridge, New Jersey; daughter, Carol Samara Berry of Phoenix, Arizona; three grandsons, Todd E. Landua, Jonathan D. Landua and Domenic Magliaro; three great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Wiese of Brenham; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fred and Blanch Seidel of Brenham, Oliver Landua of Virginia and Mabel and Ray Hill of Nederland. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Alton John Landua, on January 5, 1995. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9 in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
