Henry F. Drews, Jr., 71, of Brenham, died June 1, 2015, at Hospice Brazos Valley Inpatient Facility in Bryan. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Henry F. Drews, Jr. will be Friday, June 5 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastor Lee Kunkel and Pastor William Holzer officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Mr. Drews was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Burton, TX, to Henry Alfred and Lillie Alaminski Drews. He was baptized April 16, 1944, in St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton and was confirmed March 30, 1958, in the same church. He was a 1963 graduate of Brenham High School and earned an associate of arts degree in accounting at Blinn College. On Oct. 19, 1969, he was married to Eunice Lynn Hinze at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Mr. Drews was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served on the school board. He was also a Boy Scout leader and member of Brenham Band Parents. Mr. Drews worked as a painting supervisor in the maintenance department at Brenham State Supported Living Center. Survivors include his wife, Eunice Drews of Brenham; son, Patrick Henry Drews of Amarillo; daughter and son-in-law, Crystal Lynn and Randy Ryland of Brenham; grandchildren, who fondly called him BoBo, Morigan Lynn Ryland and Maizie Glyndora Ryland; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Gloria and Bennie Hanath of Brenham; cousins, Erma Prigge Luetge of Brenham and Allyne Columbus of Bacliff; nephews, great-nephews and a great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, his parents-in-law and cousins. Pallbearers will be Troy Hanath II, Charles Carfo, Raymond Dabera, Heath Byrd, Eric Baranowski, Timothy Reid, Charles "Chuck" Babb and Doug Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Green, Harvey Herzog, David Herzog, Alan Reid, Clarence Meinholdt, Lee Kline, Freddie Hrnicko and Friends of Bluebonnet Opry Board and House Band.
