Henry Claude Jaeger, 94, of Houston, died Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at his daughter s residence in Houston. Mr. Jaeger was born Sept. 17, 1910 in Winedale, Texas, the son of Henry and Alvina Tonn Jaeger. He was baptized in Winedale Lutheran Church by Rev. Falkenberg. Following his elementary education, he attended Lamar College in Port Arthur. On Sept. 18, 1929, he was married to Lillie Neumann. Henry served his country in the merchant marine during World War II. He worked as a farmer, dairyman, and as an apartment complex superintendent. He is survived by 3 daughters, 6 sons and their spouses: Delores Gummelt of Winedale, Texas, Bernhardt and Lois Jaeger of Houston, Melvern and Thresa Jaeger of Houston, Wilburn and Sarah Jaeger of Houston, Jeanette Zemanek of Houston, Larry and Ruth Jaeger Winedale, Edith and Earl Featherston of Houston, Jerry and Paulette Jaeger of Cary, North Carolina, and Lanis Jaeger of Windale. Henry is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers-in-law, 4 brothers and 3 sisters-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, and 1 great grandchild. The funeral service for Henry Claude Jaeger will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 14, at Greenvine Lutheran Church with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Jaeger-Witte cemetery. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
