Henry Charles Maass, 67, of Brenham, died June 23, 2007 at Conroe Regional Hospital. Mr. Maass was born July 29, 1939 in Burton, Texas to Henry and Mathilda Drews Maass. He was baptized in St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton by Rev. E. Eiben and confirmed on April 11, 1954 by Rev. Schwengel, also in St. John United Church of Christ. He attended Harrisburg and Long Point Schools, and was a 1958 graduate of Brenham High School. On July 8, 1967 he was married to Nancy Stark in the First United Methodist Church in Bellville by Rev. James Frazier. Mr. Maass was a machinist for the Steadley Co. He had also worked at Maddox Furniture and for Pro Auto Supply. Mr. Maass was a member of St. John s United Church of Christ of Burton and the Sons of Herman. He was a Little League coach for a number of years and was an active volunteer in Boy Scouts of America. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Maass of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Christopher John and wife Lili Cantu of Austin and Tadd Charles and wife Julie of Brenham; grandchildren Sofia Maass and Peyton Maass; sisters and brother-in-law Ruby Kettler, and Ora Lee and Luther Gregor of Brenham; aunt Lillie Drews of Brenham; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Charles and Kathy Stark of Poteau, Ok. and Carolyn Bunch of Bellville. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law James Kettler; mother-in-law and father-in-law A. J. and Hazel Stark. Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Kettler, Calvin Farrack, Eldon Mikeska, Ricky Seilheimer, Neal Pieper, Timmy Huebner, Scot Dannhaus and Stephen Draehn. Serving as honorary pallbearers are his friends from Robert s Service Station and Pro Auto Supply, and Adolph Charles Wehmeyer, Albert Addicks, Clemence Kubeczka, Henry Drews, and Franklin Eckert. Funeral services for Henry Maass will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John s United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg and Greg Felder officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
