Henry Santana, 83, of Burton, died May 22, 2017, in College Station, TX.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
A celebration of life service will be held at noon Thursday, May 25 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Deacon Al Prescott officiating. Burial will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday, May 26 at National Cemetery in Houston.
Mr. Santana was born Dec. 29, 1933, in Baytown, TX, to Eugenio and Marina (Gutierrez) Santana. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
On July 12, 1956, he married Lenora Jean Worthy in Texas City, TX.
Mr. Santana was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brenham and was a retired instrument technician with Occidental Chemicals. His hobbies included taking a chance at the wheel and singing karaoke. Playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy. He had a love for telling stories and sharing his experiences with his family. Mr. Santana was a do-it-yourself teacher and enjoyed fixing and building many things.
Survivors include his wife, Lenora Jean Santana of Burton; children and their spouses, Debra Gayle and A.J. Cortez of Deer Park, Lisa Jean and Ed Dover of Centerville, Henry Jr. and Roberta Santana of Lago Vista, Patricia Ann and David Dudley of Canton, OH, Pamela Marie Santana of Pasadena; and Cynthia Lynn and Daniel Birch of London, England; brothers and sisters-in-law, Miguel and Alida Santana and Eugenio Jr. and Patricia Santana, all of Baytown; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hortencia and Val Carmona of Pasadena, Armandina and William Gebhardt of Houston and Ofelia and Martin Vepez of Baytown; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Gloria Marburger, Marcella and James Feagin, Lois and Melvin Sutton and Cora Nell and Rodney Blumberg; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; mother; sister, Marina Garza; and mother-in-law, Lenora M. Worthy.
