Henry Fred Schumacher passed away June 3, 2012 in Tomball. He was born Nov. 10, 1921 in Gay Hill, Texas to Henry and Ella Schumacher. After the early death of his mother, he was raised by his paternal uncle and his wife, Fritz and Bertha Schumacher. Henry served in the U. S. Army from 1942 until 1946, and attended Blinn College upon his return. In 1947, he married Ladine Jaroszewski. They made their home in Hempstead, Texas, where he was the manager for Hawkins Service Station from 1949 until he retired in 1987. Henry loved the outdoors, spending most of his time fishing and gardening. He is survived by his wife, Ladine Schumacher; daughter Sandy Stelter and husband Ray of Waller; son, Bob Schumacher of Pittsburgh, PA; grandchildren: Shelley Hill and husband John, Chris Stelter and wife Melanie, and Will Schumacher; great-grandchildren: Kaitlin and Luke Hill and Megan and Tyler Stelter; brother, Wilfred Schumacher and wife Gladys, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and countless friends. Funeral services for Henry Fred Schumacher will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Hempstead. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.
