Henry Steinfeld, Jr., 79, the husband of May Dell Glenz Steinfeld, passed away August 15, 2015 in Bryan. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Zion Lutheran Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Pat Lehrer will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Henry Steinfeld, Jr. was born Sept. 19, 1935 in the Kuykendall Community of Washington County to Henry Sr. and Caroline Weghorst Steinfeld. He was baptized November 24, 1935 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church of Sandy Hill by Rev. Paul Czerkns, where he was also confirmed on June 5, 1949 by Rev. A. M. Fiedler. On Dec. 28, 1957, he was married to May Dell Glenz at Zion Lutheran Church by Rev. R. J. Weber. He remained a member at Zionsville until his death. Henry was retired from Blue Bell Creameries, where he was employed for many years. He was a member of the Bluebonnet Club, Friends of the Bluebonnet Opry, and Brenham Fitness Center. A kind and caring man, Henry was always willing to help out his friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, May Dell Steinfeld of Brenham; nieces Eunice Kelm, Carol Surovik, and Ruth Mott, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Also surviving are special friends, Dave and Sara Eilers, a special great niece, Cindy Buck, and special cousin, Judy Jeske. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Sr. and Caroline Steinfeld; mother-in-law and father-in-law Otto and Laura Glenz; brothers, Ben Steinfeld and wife Alma, and Howard Steinfeld and wife Marie, and a nephew, Marshall Steinfeld. Serving as pallbearers are Roy Schmidt, Pastor Charles Surovik, Mark Buck, Cody Steen, Ernie Weatherby, and Michael Przyborski. Honorary pallbearers are Harold Schwarze, Robert Jeske, Elwood Kelm, and the Board Members of Bluebonnet Opry. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley or to Zion Lutheran Church.
