Herbert Walter Emshoff, 83, of Brenham, and the husband of Ruth Henske Emshoff passed away Thursday, February 6, 2003, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Mr. Emshoff was born October 21, 1919, in New Wehdem, Austin County, Texas, the son of William and Henrietta Koester Emshoff. He was baptized December 14, 1919, and was confirmed March 25, 1934 in St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem. Mr. Emshoff attended school at New Wehdem, Blinn Junior College, and Sam Houston State Unversity. He spent 4 years in the First Troop Carrier Command, United States Air Force during World War II. On July 27, 1946, he married Ruth Henske in St. James Lutheran Church. Mr. Emshoff was a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham and Buddy Wright Post # 48 of the American Legion. He was employed by Lacina Auto Service for five years, Ollie Miller Chevrolet for ten years, Ward Automotive for thirty years and the Brenham National Bank. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Henske Emsholl of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law, Judy Lynn and Gale Welch of Houston; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky Dale and Julie Lyn Emshoff of Friendswood; three grandchildren, Lauren Ashley Smith and her husband Randall, Blake Tyler Welch and Jena Lyn Emshoff; two great-grandchildren, Madison Lynn and MacKenzie Gale Smith; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Isabell Emshoff and Erna Emshoff of Brenham, Ruby Emshoff of Houston, Gladys Tiemann, Frances and Allen Garling of Bellville; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters. The funeral service for Herbert Walter Emshoff will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, february 9, 2003, in St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham with Pastors Lawrence Bade and Kim Little-brooks officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Saturday, February 8, 2003. Pallbearers will be Erwin Emshoff, Donald Emshoff, Jimmy Draehn, Floyd Engeling, Daniel Engeling, Royce Garling, Gene Bosse and Charles Schramme. Honorary pallbearers will be Bette Schramme, Matthew Dantzer, Dr. Mustafa Naeem, Dr. Sharaf Diwan, Wilfred Emshoff, Melvin Kelm, Alfred Becker, Eddie Lacina and all the nurses and therapists from A.M.A. Memorials may be given to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brenham. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street in Brenham.
