Herbert “Red” Grabarschick Jr., 83, of Brenham, TX, died on June 12, 2020 in Brenham, TX.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2020 at Prairie Lea Cemetery.

A visitation will be held at 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Mr. Grabarschick was born in Gay Hill, TX on September 27, 1936 to Herbert and Esther Eickenhorst Grabarschick. He worked as a highway surveyor for the Texas Highway Department. He served in the United States Army and Texas National Guard.

Mr. Grabarschick was baptized in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. He married his wife, Peggy Baker, on June 16, 1983.

Mr. Grabarschick really enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, BBQ, chile cookoffs, and watching the Astros.

Mr. Grabarschick is survived by his son, Duane Grabarschick of Round Rock, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Shawnee and her husband Obren Djordjevic of Brenham, TX; daughter, Terri Conner of Spring, TX; grandchildren, Kelsey Northway and her husband Gene Patrick, Nichole Loritsch and her husband Myka, Brandon Djordjevic and his wife Kelli, Ashley Sharee Seres and her husband Norbert and Kyle Wilson; great-grandchildren, Gene Harris Northway, Elizabeth Loritsch, Gracee Loritsch, Rhys Djordjevic, Alexia Djordjevic, Destiny Hyatt and Faith Wilson, and special Dachshund Companion, Megan.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Esther Grabarschick; wife, Peggy Baker Grabarschick and grandson, Trevor Cook.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
