Herbert Roemer Jr, husband of Gladys Marie Roemer, died April 29, 2011 at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Herbert was born October 20, 1931 in Sandtown, Carmine, Texas. The son of Herbert and Alma Mueller Roemer. He was baptized on November 22, 1931 at At. Martin Lutheran Church by Reverend H. Brunotte, and confirmed on March 30, 1947 by Reverend Leo H. Simon at Martin Lutheran Church. He was married on Jan 31, 1959 to Gladys Marie Eickenhorst at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham, Texas by Pastor Arnold G. Mueller. He was retired from Liquid Carbonate Corporation in Houston. Herbert and Gladys were members of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Houston for 40 years. Survivors include: wife Gladys Roemer, brother and sister-in-law; Clarence and Linda Roemer of Schulenberg, Tx, sister and brother-in-law; Robert and Alice Wiederhold of Calddwell, Tx and sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Mamie Roemer of Burton, Glen and Rose Eickenhorst of South Carolina, Johnnie Lee and Elois Eickenhorst, Harold Eickenhorst and Mrs. Loyce Murry all of Brenham and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers 1 sister, and 1 niece. Pallbearers include Mark Roemer, Scott Roemer, Kyle Roemer, Bobby, Davis, Tim Murski, and Mark Eickenhorst. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at Martin Luther Lutheran Chruch of Carmine, with the Pastor Karen Nelson officiating burial will be in Carmine City Cemetery, visitation with the family and friends will be held Sunday, May 1, 2011 from 5:00 -7:30 p.m. at Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Memorials may be given to Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine.
