Hilda Schlottmann

Hilda Schlottmann, 94, of Brenham, died Feb. 21, 2006, in Trinity Medical Center, in Brenham. Mrs. Schlottmann was born August 26, 1911, in Prairie Hill, Washington County, Texas, to Gus and Hedwig Grebe Schulz. She was baptized Dec. 3, 1911, in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill by Pastor F. Apfelbach and was confirmed March 28, 1926, in the same church by Pastor Paul Gogolin. Mrs. Schlottmann attended Live Oak Hill School. On Oct. 10, 1934, she was married to Willie W. Schlottmann in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. She was a life-long member of St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and former member of the choir. For more than 20 years she cleaned the church and education building. Mrs. Schlottmann was a charter member of Prairie Hill-Rocky Hill Fire Department and a Lydia auxiliary member. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her cousins, Floyd Grebe of Brenham and Josephine Hugo of Brenham; and sister-in-law, Erna Janczak of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willie W. Schlottmann, on Nov. 8, 1967; and one brother. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25 in St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill with Dr. Sue Beall officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
