Hildegard Tiaden

Hildegard Sophie Tiaden, 104, of Brenham, died April 1, 2007, at Kruse Memorial Lutheran Village in Brenham. Mrs. Tiaden was born July 25, 1902, in the Cedar Hill community of Washington County, Texas, to Edward and Bertha Krause Steinbach. She was baptized in the Christian faith on April 17, 1903 in St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill and was confirmed April 1, 1917, in the same church. Mrs. Tiaden attended public schools in Washington County. On April 8, 1928, she was married to Ewald Tiaden in St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. They made their home in the Stone community near Brenham. Mrs. Tiaden was a member of St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and was past president. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Ed F. Kruse of Brenham; her son and daughter-in-law, John E. and Mildred Tiaden of Brenham; grandsons and their wives, Paul and Barbara Kruse of Brenham, Garral and Linda Tiaden of Brenham and Janie Kruse of Charleston, South Carolina; three granddaughters and their spouses, Karen and Wesley Hall of College Station, Bev and Robert Klingsporn of Brenham, and Sarah and Todd Ostrominski of Round Rock; 28 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a niece, Jo Anne Zuch of Waco; and nephews, Dr. H.L. Steinbach of Dallas and John Steinbach of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in June 1978; two grandsons, Ken Eddie Kruse and Neil Kruse; a brother, Dr. H.L. Steinbach; a sister, Alvina Steinbach; and sister-in-law, Elsa Steinbach. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, April 2 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham with Pastor Lawrence Bade officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Paul Kruse, Garral Tiaden, Todd Ostrominski, Robert Klingsporn, Wes Hall, Jordan Kruse, Michael Bosse, Stephen Bosse, Christopher Tiaden, Andrew Klingsporn, Alex Klingsporn, John Ostrominski, Wes Kruse, Ben Ostrominski, Allen Hall, Gabriel Hall and Emmanuel Hall. Memorials may be given to St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham or Hospice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
