Funeral services for Hortense Z. Betty Schultz, 83, wife of Gilbert Lee Schultz, are scheduled for 2 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014 at Industry United Methodist Church, with Rev. Leo Carrasco officiating. Burial will follow in the Industry Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Mrs. Schultz passed away May 1, 2014 at Grimes St. Joseph Hospital in Navasota. Hortense Schultz was born April 10, 1931 in the Prairie Hill community of Washington County to Charlie H. and Louise Kramer Ziesemer. She was baptized May 24, 1931 and confirmed at Prairie Hill Church. On March 3, 1951, she was married to Gilbert Lee Schultz at Welcome Lutheran Church. A faithful member of Industry Methodist Church, she served as secretary of the Evangelism Committee, a member of the Bertha Circle, and assisted in producing the church newsletter. She lovingly took care of her family as a homemaker. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Gilbert Schultz; sons and daughters-in-law Thomas C. and Sheryl Schultz of Industry, and Rodney and Linda Schultz of Brenham; grandchildren: Tammy and James Johnson, Thomas C. Schultz, Jr. and Bryan Cotton, and Amanda and Jim Weaver; great-grandchildren: Ryan Johnson and Reese Johnson; sisters-in-law Esther Schultz and Viola Weiss, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law Wilma and Reinhardt Schulze, Elsie and Bill Reich, Erna and Hank Schroeder; brothers and sisters-in-law Rueben and Erma Ziesemer, and Clarence and Billie Ziesemer, and a brother, Melvin Ziesemer. Serving as pallbearers are grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews. Memorials may be directed to Industry United Methodist Church. Funeral arrangements for Hortense Z.
