Howard Kuecker

Howard Kuecker, 82, husband of Mildred Ashorn Kuecker, died December 1, 2018 in Brenham.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill, with Pastor Jill Vivroux officiating. Burial will proceed at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

Howard Kuecker was born October 6, 1936 in Brenham to Henry and Elsie Janner Kuecker. Howard married the love of his life, Mildred Kuecker, on May 1, 1965 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, in which Pastor Paul Hartfield officiated. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill on February 14, 1937 and was confirmed on April 6, 1952.

When Howard was young he worked at Jimmy Hahn Concrete, but he spent most of his career working at Brenham Coca-Cola and retired in 1993 as Manager. After retirement, Howard took a part time job at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Howard really enjoyed working on his ranch, but he truly loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren, Lauren, Colin, and Kailea. Howard also served on the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, as well as the Rural Water System Board. He was also a proud member of the Mound Hill Shooting Club. He also served as a superintendent of St. John Lutheran Church Sunday School, as well as being on the St. John Lutheran Church finance committee.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Kuecker; son and daughter-in-law, Kary and Leslie Kuecker; daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Eric Hagerman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilfred and Barbara Kuecker and Gerald and Theresa Kuecker; brother, Charles Kuecker; sister, Doris Sebesta; sister-in-law Blondean Kuecker and grandchildren, Lauren Hagerman, Colin Hagerman, and Kailea Kuecker, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Elsie Kuecker; brothers and sister-in-law, Ervin and Laverna Kuecker, Clarence and Dorothy Kuecker, Elroy and Betty Kuecker; brother, Henry Kuecker; sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Ervin Schulze, brother-in-law, Herbert Sebesta, and nephews Michael Kuecker, Craig Kuecker and Gregory Sebesta.

Serving as pallbearers are Ron Kuecker, Lance Kuecker, Gary Schulze, Troy Kuecker, Brad Kuecker, Mark Kuecker, and John McNair.

Serving as honorary pallbearers are Lauren Hagerman, Colin Hagerman, and Kailea Kuecker.

Memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church of Prairie Hill.
