Howard Herman Muske, 68, of Brenham died Jan. 5, 2006 in Trinity Medical Center of brain cancer. Born July 30, 1937 in Winedale, Howard was the third child of Louis and Viola Muske. He was baptized Nov. 21, 1937 at Winedale Lutheran Church And confirmed by Pastor A.B. Weiss at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Round Top, Texas April 6, 1952. He graduated from Burton High School in 1956 and Blinn College and served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He married Carolyn Pipes May 29, 1976 in Houston. They had two children. Howard was a devoted husband and father. Howard began his insurance career in Houston and continued his Insurance career for over 40 years. He was one of four owners of American Underwriters Agency Inc., where he served as secretary/treasurer. The agency was moved to Brenham July 30, 1980. Howard retired from Brenham Wholesale Dec. 16, 2005, where he worked for seven years. Howard was involved in St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church, where he was an usher and served on church committees. While in Houston, he attended Zion Lutheran Church, where he was also involved in numerous committees. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Muske of Brenham; daughters, LauraMuske of Houston and Kimberly Muske of Brenham; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan and Joyce Muske of New Ulm and Clyde and Delores Muske of Houston; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Travis Jr. and Vicki Pipes of Plano; father-in-law, Travis Pipes Sr. of Houston; mother-in-law, Mary Pipes of Houston; nieces and nephews, Sandra and Terry Krebs of New Ulm, Gary and Krystal Muske of Pearland; Wanda and Rocky Leopold of Columbus, Bruce and Sheila Muske of Burton, Jay Muske of Friendswood, Donna and Arman Prescott Jr. of Conifer, Colo., Greg and Missy Pipes of Frisco, Texas and Steven Pipes of Plano; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, David Brian Muske Nov. 15, 1978; sister-in-law, Kay Pipes Jacks; and numerous other relatives. Visitation with family will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Funeral services for Howard Muske will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006 at St. Paul s Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Lawrence Bade and Pastor Kim Little-Brooks officiating.
