Mrs. Ida Krause Schmidt, age 84 of the Round Top community, died Tuesday, February 01, 2005 in Trinity Care Center. She is the wife of Edgar Herman Schmidt. Ida was born December 17, 1920 in Round Top, Texas, the daughter of Wilhelm & Hulda Goebel Krause. She was born and lived her entire life in the same house. She was educated in the Quade schools. Ida was baptized and confirmed in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. On June 1, 1941 she married Edgar Herman Schmidt in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top. To them was born a daughter, Eurline Joyce Schmidt, who preceded her in death on January 11, 1986. Ida was a life member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top, member of the ladies aid, member of the Round Top Rifle Association and the Round Top Fire Department Auxiliary. Mrs. Schmidt is survived by her husband of 63 years, Edgar Herman Schmidt of Round Top; son-in-law and his wife, Max Jr. & Barbara Baranowski of Round Top; granddaughters, Amy & Sara Baranowski; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Krause of Brenham. She is preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Eurline Joyce Barnaowski and a brother. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2005 in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Round Top with Pastor John David Nedbalek officiating with interment to follow in the Richter Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives in Foehner Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Marvin Schley, Karl Krueger, Warren Ickert, Bob Krolczyk, Joe Hayes, Percy Rudloff, Roger Sommerfeld and Amy Baranowski. Honorary pallbearers will be Melvin Dallmeyer, Reese Schmidt, Melvin Schoenst, Wayne Wagner, Clem Baranowski, Ronnie Hinze, Frank Walthers, Lawrence Kiel, Eugene Menking, Jack Schramm, Emil Schley, Jr. and Bob Leonhardt. Foehner Funeral Home of Burton is in charge of the arrangements.
