Ilene Eastep Lueckemeyer, 80, widow of Franklin Lueckemeyer, passed away October 16, 2008 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center in Brenham. Ilene was born August 21, 1928 to Isack Earl and Virginia Mae Young Eastep in Boston, Arkansas. She was baptized in 1936 in New Baden, Texas in the First Baptist church, and confirmed November 16, 1947 at St. James Lutheran Church of New Wehdem by Pastor G. C. Senff. On March 2, 1947, she married Franklin Lueckemeyer in the St. James Lutheran Church Parsonage in New Wehdem. Mrs. Lueckemeyer became a member of St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1955. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Cynthia Lueckemeyer and Ronnie and Pat Lueckemeyer; granddaughters: Jennifer and her husband, Aaron de la Garza and Kim and her husband, Barrett Bartell; sisters Dorothy Pearce and Juanita Supak; brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Chris Eastep; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law Evelyn T. W. Lueckemeyer; Odell and Willie Mae Lueckemeyer; Lillian and Melvin Henske, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin Lueckemeyer; sisters Ruth Davis, Wanda Matula; brother James Eastep; brothers-in-law G. R. Pearce and Willie Matula. Funeral services for Ilene Lueckemeyer will be held at St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 18, 2008, with Pastor Lawrence Bade and Pastor Phillip Fenton officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Friday evening from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Serving as pallbearers are William Blume, Jimmy Blume, Russell Henske, Wayne Giese, Tommy Pryzborski, and Leroy Tegeler. Memorial may be directed to St. Paul''s Evangelical Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham.
