Imogene Marilyn Macat, 84, of Brenham, went to be with the Lord February 24, 2013 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in St. Mary''s Catholic Church, with Father Ernesto Elizondo officiating. Burial will take place in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday evening from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with a Rosary to be held at 7 p.m. Imogene was born October 31, 1928 in New Ulm to Richard and Annie Henneke Hoppe. She was baptized in St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Frelsburg, and confirmed in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Industry. Her education took place in New Ulm and LaGrange area schools. Later, she was employed at Blue Bell as an ice cream packager, and was a member of St. Mary''s Catholic Church, where she also was a member of the PCCW. After her retirement, Imogene generously gave of her time, volunteering at Higgins Branch and the Senior Center Gift Shop. Hobbies included needlework and sewing. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, as well as tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She treasured time spent with her great-grandchildren playing dominoes and other games. Survivors include her loving family: daughter and son-in-law, Dorothy and Richard Goodlett of Brenham; sons and daughters-in-law Delphine and Frances Merkel of New Ulm, Darwin Macat, and Douglas and Joanne Macat of Brenham; grandchildren: Nathan and Bridgett Goodlett, Brandon and Jana Goodlett, Kristy and Bret Gardener, Kristal Macat, Delta and Ricky Kolajajak, Deanna and Steven Scheffer, Shannon and Lance Altman, Matt and Casey Macat, Jonathan Macat, and Joshua Macat; great-grandchildren: Cosmo Upton, Gregory Macat, Tristyn Macat, Hayden Goodlett, Cole Goodlett, Layla Goodlett, Ava Gardener, Annlyn Gardener, Kayree Kolajajak, Korbin Kolajajak, Kennedy Altman, Keeton Altman, Sterling Scheffer, Conner Macat, and Payton Macat, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother and an infant sister. Pallbearers will be her grandsons: Nathan Goodlett, Brandon Goodlett, Matt Macat, and Joshua Macat, as well as great-grandsons Cosmo Upton and Gregory Macat. Her other great-grandsons will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to St. Mary''s Catholic Church of Brenham, Traditions Hospice of Bryan, or to any favorite charity.
