Ira Frances Phillips, 94, widow of Alwin Phillips, died January 15, 2015 at Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Memorial Oaks Chapel, with Rev. Billy Sutherland officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Ira Phillips was born January 5, 1921 in Port Arthur to Carlos and Sally Hanson Worley. She was a homemaker. A member of the Eastern Star for 55 years, she was also a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Brenham. A talented artist, she loved to paint, and was an excellent seamstress and cook. Her grandchildren were recipients of sock monkeys and clowns, which she also made and donated for Eastern Star fundraisers. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Mitchell and Louise Phillips of Jonestown, Texas, and Leonard and Becky Phillips of Brenham; grandchildren Kevin Phillips, Frederic Carre, Bryan Phillips, Robin Phillips, Shauna Phillips, Carrie Phillips, and Jordan Phillips; great-grandchildren: Kayla Phillips, Pauline Carrie, Anna Carrie, Beau Phillips, Faith Phillips, Autumn West, and Koru Phillips; step-grandchildren: Bruce Sorge, Cliff Sorge; step-great-grandchildren Collin Sorge, Connor Sorge, Dylan Sorge, Ashlyn Sorge, and Lauren Sorge; brother, Lewis Worley of Florida; sisters Alice Harrell and Lyra Williamson and husband Ken of Brenham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alwin Phillips, and her parents. Serving as pallbearers are Cliff Sorge, Bruce Sorge, Dylan Sorge, Kevin Phillips, Bryan Phillips, and Monte Golden.
