Irene Kettler

Irene Kettler, 86, of Brenham, passed away August 11, 2008 in Trinity Medical Center. Ms. Kettler was born August 10, 1922 in William Penn, Texas to Ernest and Minnie Lampe Kettler. She was baptized and confirmed in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn, and continued to be a member there throughout her life. Irene was a retired babysitter. Survivors include brothers Weldon Kettler and wife Lehlia, and Calvin Kettler and wife Lorene, all of Cypress; sister Minnie Thornton and husband R. K. of Houston, and Gernell Neumann and husband Alvin of Brenham; sister-in-law Daphne Kettler of Houston, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Melvin and Virginia Kettler, R. Lee Kettler, a nephew, Donald Kettler and a niece, Teri Lyn Thornton. Funeral services for Irene Kettler will be held Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn with Pastor Matthew Jacobs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation with family and friends will take place Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Bethlehem Lutheran Church of William Penn. Funeral services have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
