Irene Johanna Lehmann, 90, of Brenham, died Jan. 28, 2004, in Trinity Medical Center in Brenham. Miss Lehmann was born March 30, 1913, in the Salem community of Washington County, TX, to Herman A. and Meta Schawe Lehmann. She was baptized June 29, 1913, in Salem Lutheran Church in Salem by Rev. Mgebroff and was confirmed April 1, 1928, in the same church by Rev. Utesch. Miss Lehmann was a homemaker. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Bessie Lehmann of Bellville; sister, Vernita Lehmann of Brenham; and a nephew and niece, Kenneth and Betty Lehmann of Brenham. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Meta Lehmann and Helen Lehmann. The family will receive visitors from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 31 in Salem Lutheran Church in Salem with Pastors Bill Derrick and Mike Widner officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Alvin Schawe, Alvin Lehmann, Melvin Schilling, Waldo Dannhaus, Milton Fred Hueske and Roy Dannhaus. Honorary pallbearers will be Lonnie Nordt, L.C. Nordt, Robert Lehmann, Roy B. Schroeder, Glen Schroeder, Bernard Dannhaus and Luther Hueske. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Salem Lutheran Church in Salem. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
