Irene Hardan Tegeler, 92, widow of Ernest Tegeler, died October 30, 2008 in Gazebo Terrace Convalescent Center. Irene was born in the Gay Hill Community of Washington County on November 27, 1915 to William and Elizabeth Klatt Hardan. She was baptized January 5, 1916 by Pastor C. Stadler at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill, and confirmed December 29, 1927 by Pastor Julius Bosshard in the same church. On November 25, 1936 she was married to Ernest Tegeler by Pastor A. W. Weber at St. Peter''s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill. She attended Washington County schools. Mrs. Tegeler was a homemaker. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Frances Hardan of Topeka, Kansas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Tegeler, her parents and one brother. Funeral services for Irene Tegeler will be held Monday, November 3, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg, with Pastor Robert Sorensen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel Sunday afternoon from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. Mrs. Tegeler''s nephews are serving as pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to the cemetery fund of St. Paul''s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main, Brenham.
