Irma Webernick

Irma Webernick, died March 16, 2013 in Brenham, Texas, at the age of 100. She was born July 4, 1912 to Otto Webernick and Hulda Jeske Webernick in the Live Oak Community of Washington County. She was baptized at home in Live Oak Community and confirmed April 10, 1927 at St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prairie Hill. She was a member of St. John''s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Prairie Hill. In 1926 the family moved to Prairie Hill Community where she attended Prairie Hill Schools. She was a loyal daughter providing care for her mother and father until their deaths. She enjoyed farming, raising many flowers and rows of vegetables and a multitude of farm animals. In 1958 after her father''s death she moved to Houston where she resided with her sister Alma until Alma''s death. She was employed for a short time at the Texas State Hotel which has now become a boutique hotel in downtown Houston. She then worked until her retirement in 1993 for C. Dale Ross Optical. In 1997 she moved back to Brenham where she resided with her sister Hildegard. They prepared many family dinners including numerous desserts and also attended local church and various barbeque dinners. She especially loved all of her nieces and nephews as they were her children. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Hilma Loesch and husband Henry, sister Alma Webernick, sister Hildegard Hueske and husband Robert, and brother- in- law Vernon Jurries. She is survived by her sister Edna Jurries of Caldwell, TX, her nieces Carolyn Jurries Wilton and husband Wilton of Coupland, TX, Margaret Jurries Baxter and husband Marshall of Paige, TX, and nephew Arthur Mickey Hueske and wife Shirley of Brenham, TX. Grand nieces and nephews Alesia Nettles of Leander, TX, Anthony Jurries and wife Daphne of Round Rock, TX, Garrett Lockley of Leander, TX, Madeline Baxter of San Marcos, TX, Brooke Wilton of Austin, TX and Dr. Jeff Wilton and wife Ann of Madison, WI, Jason Hueske and wife Julie, Jamie Hueske McCain and husband Chris, all of Brenham, TX. Great-grand nieces and nephews Ryan Jurries, Autumn Lockley, Scott Wilton, Patricia Wilton, Claire Hueske, Addison McCain, Braden McCain and Kade McCain. A special thank you to Mickey and Shirley Hueske for their devotion and untiring care and to the caregivers at Gazebo Nursing Facility and Brazos Valley Hospice.. List Pallbearers: Jason Hueske, Chris McCain, Anthony Jurries, Garrett Lockley, Brooke Wilton and Ryan Jurries. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor David Hanson officiating.
