Ivan Emil Wubbenhorst, 86, of Brenham, died July 25, 2017, in Brenham.
The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 28 at First United Methodist Church in Brenham with the Rev. Bobbie Maltas officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 28 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27 at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Mr. Wubbenhorst was born June 17, 1931, in Park, TX, to Henry Fritz and Amanda Pauline (Alhorn) Wubbenhorst. On July 17, 1954, he was married in Houston to Norma Jean Bender, who preceded him in death. On Jan. 1, 2006, he was married in Houston to Alice Faye Holden.
Mr. Wubbenhorst was a machinist for Southern Pacific Railroad. He was an active and faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Brenham. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed woodworking, tending cattle, cooking and sausage making.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Wubbenhorst of Brenham; daughter, Gayle Kovar and husband Richard of Fayetteville; stepdaughters, Gwen Arrington and husband Steve of Tulsa, OK and Donna Jacobson and husband Ken of Dripping Springs; stepson, James Lingenfelter and wife Alicia of Houston; brother, Lloyd Wubbenhorst and wife Ida Mae of Brenham; grandchildren, Joshua and Candace Kovar of Pettus, Amanda and Patrick Campbell of Brenham; stepgrandchildren: Melissa Arrington, Mitch Arrington, Scott Arrington, Chris Lingenfelter, Mandy and Matthew Baker, Jenna Lovette and Landon and Byron Canine; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Blake and Makayla Kovar and Nathan and Addison Campbell; stepgreatgrandchildren, Brynlee and Teagen Lovette and McKinley and Maisy Baker; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Norma Jean Wubbenhorst; son, Terry Wubbenhorst; brother, Warren Wubbenhorst; and sister, Virgene Hardy.
Pallbearers will be Jim Gates, Eddie Muske, Joshua Kovar, Patrick Campbell, Ryan Saunders and Gary Ivey. Honorary pallbearers will be Ran Newman, Brandon Kovar, Nathan Campbell and Blake Kovar.
Memorial contributions may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Brenham.
