J. Bailey

J. L. Bailey loving husband and father ended his battle with cancer on May 26, 2012. Born in Carthage Texas on January 4, 1941 he was raised in Beckville, Texas where he was active in school, boy scouts and working on the farm. He graduated from Beckville High School in 1959 and attended Kilgore Jr. College. J.L. started his working career as a brick layer and went on to complete an apprenticeship and became a Master Journeyman Pipefitter and a licensed Master Plumber. His career took him all over the world and he retired with 50 years of service from the Pipefitter Local 211 Union in Houston, Texas. His life is reflected by his participation as a Master Mason of Galena Park Lodge No. 1290, a Brother 32o of the Valley of Houston, Orient of Texas Scottishrite of Free Masonry, and a Noble of the Arabia Shriners Temple in Houston. J.L. moved to Brenham 12 years ago with the love of his life, Thedaray and became an active member of Fellowship Baptist Church. J.L. is preceded in death by his loving wife, Thedaray, his Mother and Father, Katie and Jesse Bailey, and his son Harold P. Taylor. He is survived by his daughter Sherree L. White and husband Joe, son, Mark D. Roberts and wife Cyndi, daughter in law Terry Taylor, J.L.''s sisters Christine Havins and husband, Bill, and Maxine Stripling and husband, Bill, and brother Joe Frank Bailey and wife Judy, 9 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and loving friends. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. and the service honoring his life will be on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 10 a.m. in the Chapel at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main St., Brenham, TX 77833. The burial will be at 3 p.m. that afternoon at Grandview Memorial Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, Texas 77505. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church, 2000 FM 389, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements for J.L.
