J.F. “Johnnie” Naumann, 86, husband of Cora Lee (Korth) Naumann, died August 9, 2017 in Brenham.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastors Matthew Jacobs and William Holzer officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.
Johnnie Naumann was born October 16, 1930 in Brenham to Edward W. and Malinda Schulze Naumann. He was baptized November 6, 1930, and confirmed September 22, 1946. He attended local schools.. Johnnie served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. On May 23, 1953, he married Cora Lee Korth in Brenham.
Mr. Naumann was a supervisor at National Steel Co. and employed at Cy-Fair ISD. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church until his death. Johnnie loved playing his guitar and singing for dances and entertaining at local nursing homes. Playing cards and dancing were favorite hobbies.
Survivors include his wife, Cora Lee Naumann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Hubert and Ruth Lois Adams of Smiley; Walter Korth, Jr. and Judy Rudloff, all of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his son, Ray Alan Naumann, on November 27, 1982; four sisters and their husbands, including Mrs. C. F. Dietzmann, Mrs. Paul Witt, Mrs. Theo Kemper, and Mrs. Harry Kershaw; brother-in-law Howard Korth; sister-in-law Carolyn Korth.
Serving as pallbearers are James Korth, Dick Dietzman, Keith Korth, Ted Wayne Kemper, Bryan Dietzman, and Cary Dietzman. Honorary pallbearers are his fellow band members, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church or Hospice Brazos Valley. The family wishes to acknowledge the ministers, Hospice Brazos Valley, Dr. Jon Bode, and the staff of Kruse Village.
