Jack W. Wage, 77, of Brenham, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2007 at the Veterans Hospital in Temple, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St. in Brenham on Sunday, Dec. 23 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 2:00 and continuing after the memorial service. Pastor Patricia Dietrich of First Lutheran Church, Temple, Tx. Will officiate. Jack was born Feb. 16, 1930 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Nelson Ray and Ruby Mae Morrison Wage, the fourth sibling of 10 children. Survivors are daughter Beverly and friend Steve; son Tom and wife Nancy of California; brothers and sisters, Ken, Pete, Bud, Peggy, and Judy; special companion and friend, Nevi Lee Lauter. Ken and wife Roma have been special in care giving. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Polly and Mary, and his brothers, Bob and Jim. He was a baker and self-employed in beauty supply business and part-time worker at Car Salon owned by Paul and Kathy Batista. He served in the U.S. Army for 5+ years, being in the Korean conflict. He earned numerous medals, including the Purple Heart. He was a member of Masonic Lodge # 106, Arcata, California for 50 years. Just recently, he was awarded the 50 year certificate and pin by representatives Sherald Bell, Dennis Todd, and Aaron Collier from Graham Masonic Lodge #20 in Brenham. He loved people and enjoyed making them laugh and be happy with his clever comments and wit.
