James Morgan Daniels, 79, of Brenham, died March 15, 2006, at his residence. Mr. Daniels was born Nov. 28, 1926, in Victoria, Texas, to Morgan Leon and Myrtle Walker Daniels. He was educated in Medina High School and served in the Army during World War II. Mr. Daniels was a cutting horse trainer and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon LaFerney of Brenham; granddaughters, Lois LaFerney, Mary LaFerney and Kristi LaFerney; great-grandson, Lee Anderson; brother and sister-in-law, Elroy and Shirley Daniels of Brenham; sister, Peggy Hartsock of Bakersfield, California; and nephew, Larry Daniels of Brenham. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Daniels; and his parents. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16 in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 17 at First Assembly of God with Sonny Rice officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Dr. H. Smith, Don LaRoe, Polly Hollar, Travis Sachtleben, Bennett Sachtleben and Olan Hightower. Honorary pallbearers are Vernon Faris, Hank Modgling, S.A. Baxter, Dave Childress and Paul Kenjura. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main St., in Brenham.
