James Eldred

James C. J.C. Eldred, 84, died December 2, 2013. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, December 5th, at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, with visitation at 9:30 Thurs. morning. J. C. was born in Brenham on December 19, 1928, to William G. and Anita Felscher Eldred and was a graduate of Brenham High School. After serving in the U. S. Army, he received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston, and studied law at South Texas College of Law in Houston. He was licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, was employed by Tenneco Oil Company and Suburban Propane Gas Corporation in their Exploration and Production Divisions, and served as Director of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen. After retiring to Brenham, he enjoyed traveling and being involved in the 1940''s Get Togethers for those Brenham High students. Survivors include his loving wife Donna, his two daughters, Kim Carper of Sinton and Terri Scott George of Katy, his son William Eldred of San Antonio, and grandchildren Nicole Eldred and William Eldred, both of Richland, Washington. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, brother and sister-in-law W. G. Eldred and Rose Eldred, and son-in-law Jim Carper. The family wishes to express its gratitude to the loving and caring staff of Oakland Manor Nursing Center, 1400 N. Main, Giddings, TX. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer''s Association, 2242W.
