James Adolph Flick, 74, of Washington, died July 16, 2009, in Bryan. Mr. Flick was born May 14, 1935, in Houston, Texas, to Adolph and Gladys Burke Flick. On August 27, 1954, he was married to Kathleen Peebles. Mr. Flick retired in 1995 as a park ranger at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Park. He was a member of the Independence Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Flick of Washington; son, John Flick of San Angelo; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Robert Wilson of College Station; and two grandchildren, Sarah Kathleen Wilson and Matt Wilson, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-laws Jerry and Jessie Peebles of Kerrville, Pat and Cathy Peebles of Houston, and Bill Peebles of Berea, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Valerie Jordell Smith and Helen Joyce Headge. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 20 at Independence Baptist Church with Rev. D.H. Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends and relatives at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 7 P.M. Memorials may be directed to Independence Baptist Church, or the Giddons International.
