James Hinze

James Lee Hinze, 81, died November 7, 2016 in Houston, after a courageous battle with cancer.

James was born August 12, 1935 in Sealy, Texas to parents Leo and Christine Hinze. He was baptized in Sealy. James married Nancy Lee Knight on July 20, 1958 at the home of his parents in Brenham.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Knight Hinze; sisters and brothers-in-law: Betty and Glenwood Vierus, Bernice and Jerry Joe Vaughn, and Dotsy and Ronnie Luhn, all of Brenham; Margie Spinn of Austin, and Carolyn and Roney Nazarian of Houston; sister-in-law, Trudie Hinze of Maryland; special niece, Bev Peterson of Houston, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

James is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Christine Polasek Hinze; brother Herbert Hinze; sister, Joyce Hinze; brother-in-law William "Bill" Spinn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Jean Ann and Dover Schroeder.

James and Nancy lived in the Houston area. He worked as a market meat butcher for most of his life. Later, he and Nancy enjoyed trucking short hauls to see more of Texas. He enjoyed visiting with family and could be seen at the Houston Livestock Show when his nieces and nephews were exhibiting livestock.

James loved his family. His family and friends will always remember him as a wonderful husband, brother and uncle.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Oaks Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society or any favorite charity.
