James Robertson Pettitt, Jr.

James Robertson Pettitt Jr., 82, of Brenham, TX, died on July 25, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to service time with a Memorial Service starting at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 2 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Deacon John Pelletier will officiate.

James was born on February 16, 1941 in Galveston, TX to James and Cora Nettie Louise Carlin Pettitt. He married his wife, Daisy Solleder, on December 23, 1995. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era.

He was a member of the Washington County Amateur Radio Club, American Legion 48, and US Naval Cryptology Veterans Association. He worked as a Network Controller in the Natural Gas Pipelines industry. 

James is survived by his wife, Daisy Solleder Pettitt of Brenham, TX; son and daughter-in-law, James Robertson Pettitt III and wife Nelita Ibarra of Spring, TX; stepson and daughter-in-law, Brian D. Fontenot and wife Lissa of Burnet, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Sherrell Wagers and husband Sean; stepdaughter, Melissa Fontenot Barrett; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Andrea Fontenot Huskey and husband James; grandchildren, Aryka Stone, Brandon Hoffpauir, Neala Pettitt, Bobby Pettitt, Sophia Rayas, Christopher Pettitt, Joseph Pettitt, Gregory Gonzales, Dylan Keith, Collins Barrett, Calla Fontenot, and William Fontenot; great-grandchildren, Greggory Stone, Cora Stone, Emillie Stone, Harper Vanlue, Brandon Hoffpauir Jr., and Hadley Hoffpauir; and other relatives, Thomas Nordyke, Hermae Nordyke, Cindy Berken, and Ronnie and Linda Pettitt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dylan Keith, Brandon Hoffpauir, Greggory Stone, Brian Fontenot, Sean Wagers, and Gregory Gonzales.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Nettie Pettitt.
