James Reimer

James Paul Reimer, 66, best known to friends as Pennie or Speedy, died Saturday, June 2, 2007 in Rocksprings, Texas. Mr. Reimer was born February 12, 1941, in the Gay Hill Community, Washington County, Texas, to Paul and Ella Gaskamp Reimer. He was baptized March 23, 1941 in St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill by Pastor John Striepe and confirmed April 3, 1955 in the same church by Pastor Paul Fischer. He was a graduate of Brenham High School. On August 27, 1960, he was married to Jo Ann Fieseler by Rev. H. Burnotte in St. Paul s Lutheran Church of Phillipsburg. Mr. Reimer was employed for 52 years as a truck driver for Jimmie Hahn Inc. of Brenham. He was a life-long member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill where he served on the church council and was currently serving as the president of the congregation. Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Reimer of Brenham; sons & daughter-in-law, David & Debra Reimer, Neal James Reimer and special friend Ashley Kopech, all of Brenham; daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy & Steve Lindemann of Burton, Michele & Kevin Glenz of Brenham, and Tammy & Chris Kaminski of Chappell Hill; grandchildren, Luke & Jaimi Reimer of Brenham, Shelby & Trevor Glenz of Brenham, Cody & Cori Kaminski of Chappell Hill; brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law, Evelyn Reimer, Barbara Reimer, Laura Fieseler, Sigmund Fieseler , Leroy Fieseler, Alice & Frank Macik, Mildred Bartos, Esther & Alfred Lampe, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul & Ella Reimer, in-laws, Ernest, Sr. & Minnie Fieseler, granddaughter; Maci Reimer; brothers, Otto & Reuben Reimer; brothers-in-law, Ernest Fieseler, Jr., Joe Bartos; sisters-in-law, Doris Fieseler, Ruth Wiehe and Margaret Fieseler. Funeral service for James Paul Reimer will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at St. Peter s Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Pecht officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, at Memorial Oaks Chapel in Brenham. Pallbearers will be Darrell Reimer, Ronald Reimer, Allen Bartos, Jerry Niemeyer, Paul Gaskamp, James Gaskamp, Pete Gaskamp and Melvin Gaskamp. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren, employees of Jimmie Hahn and all other nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Peter s Lutheran Church of Gay Hill Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street in Brenham.
