Janell Ann "Tiny" Meyer Marek, 63, wife of Dennie Marek, died May 7, 2010 in St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. Born on December 1, 1946 in the Latium Community to Benhardt and Elsie Schultz Meyer, Tiny was baptized in Greenvine and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. On February 20, 1965, she married Dennie Marek in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, where she was a member throughout her life. Tiny enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, and favorite hobbies were playing dominoes and doing crafts. She also always looked forward to watching Astro baseball. Survivors include her husband, Dennie Marek of New Ulm; daughters Cindy Kissel and special friend Jimmy Seibert of New Braunfels; Denise Plumb and Stephen and their children, Ava Ryen and Andie Rose of Cypress; Kimberly Pieper and her children Hunter, Hayden and Holden of New Ulm; mother-in-law, Tina Marek; sister and brother-in-law, Ora Dean and Otto Duesterhoft II; brother and sister-in-law Ben and Delores Meyer; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Barnell and Susie Marek, and Darrell and Jane Marek. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Elsie Meyer, father-in-law Dicky Marek, and nephew Stuart Duesterhoft. Funeral services for Janell Ann "Tiny" Marek will be held Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby, with Pastor Linda Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Latium Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday evening. Serving as pallbearers are Allen Duesterhoft, Douglas Duesterhoft, Otto Duesterhoft III, Bryan Meyer, Christopher Marek, and David Feist. Her grandchildren and Adeline Landua will be considered honorary pallbearers. Memorials may be directed to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Shelby. Special thanks are extended to the Columbus Community Hospital Home Health nurses as well as to Dr. Bosse and his staff. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W.
