Janet Pomykal was born October 1, 1933 in Wesley to Albert and Leona (Gaskamp) Weiss. On September 16, 1950, she was married to Verde Pomykal in the same church.

A member of Wesley Brethren Church for 68 years, she served in leadership of the Wesley Christian Sisters and the Synodical Committee of the Unity of the Brethren. She taught confirmation classes, and supported missions through her church, contributing to many mission efforts. Other memberships included the Bluebonnet Garden Club and Fortnightly Club.

Janet worked without pay for Pomykal Drilling Co. for many years, and later bought and operated Fluff Top Roll Restaurant for eleven years. She provided for, prayed for, and loved every member of her large family, having the sure hope of heaven, and in her last days, looked forward to meeting those loved ones who had gone before her.
