Jay Stites

Jay W. Stites, 82, passed away March 5, 2012 in Brenham Nursing & Rehab Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2012 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The family will receive friends and relatives from 12 noon until service time. Interment will take place in Newport, Ark. Jay Stites was born November 25, 1929 in Newport, Ark. to R. J. and Opal Fay Parsley Stites. He grew up in New Port, and graduated from high school in 1947. He served in the U. S. Air Force. Jay moved to Shreveport, LA. and began his banking career at First Financial. He next stop was First National Bank in Brenham and he ended his career at Bank One. Jay''s favorite sport/hobby was bowling, participating in tournaments as well as the regular league. He was a member of the Sons of Herman and the V.F.W. Survivors include sisters Betty Cash of Richland Hills, TX., Ronnie Stites and wife Cheryl of Centennial, CO., Frank Stites and wife Jewel of Monroe, LA, and Janet Adcox and husband Preston of Georgetown.
