After a courageous fight with breast cancer, Jeannie Ann Massey, 56, of Brenham, went home to her Father on Thursday, August 23, 2007. Mrs. Massey was born July 24, 1951 in Fairfax, Oklahoma to Delmar Francis and Loraine Woods Buxton. She accepted Christ on September 25, 1960 at the First Osage Baptist Church of Fairfax, OK. She attended Fairfax High School in Fairfax, OK. On June 12, 1975, she married Michael D. Massey in Austin, Texas. Jeannie Massey was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, but above all she loved her Lord. She loved to read and in quiet times, she was a prayer warrior. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Her ministry including teaching pre-school age children to adults and most recently, the women s class. She loved being part of the music ministry, singing in the church choir and special events, and participating in the handbell choir. Survivors include her husband, Michael D. Massey; sons: Michael and Rhonda Johnson of Las Vegas; Jason and Abby Massey of Austin; Andrew Massey of Austin; brother Tom Buxton and wife Shirley of Woodward, OK.; sisters Betty Hayworth and husband Richard of Talala, Oklahoma, and Margie Millhausen and husband Ludwig of Port Wing, Wisconsin, and by her grandchildren: Jackson Massey, Madison Massey, Sierra Johnson and MaKenzie Johnson, and special friend, Vicki Lehmann. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Jean Ann Massey will be held Monday, August 27 at 10 am at Calvary Baptist Church of Brenham, with Rev. Larry Embry officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. A visitation with family and friends will be held at Memorial Oaks Chapel Sunday, Aug. 26 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Blue Bell Road, Brenham, TX. 77833, or to Calvary Baptist Audio-Visual Ministry. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham, TX.
