Jerry Blum, 72, of Houston, passed away on Monday, August 18th at Cy Fair Medical Center. Jerry was born on February 27, 1942 in Burton to Otto and Lydia Blum. He graduated from Burton High School in 1960. Jerry became a barber and began cutting hair in Houston at age 19. He continued to cut hair until a few weeks before his death. Jerry enjoyed fishing, gambling and playing pitch. He also enjoyed watching sports, especially Aggie games. Survivors include his niece, Sheila Bain and her husband Glenn, and nephew, Kevin Reuter and his wife Lana: great nieces Jamie Goehring and husband Clay, Amy Dooley and husband Todd, Abbey Reuter: great nephews Brian Bain and Logan Reuter. He is also survived by several cousins and great aunts and will be missed by many friends and customers. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Shirley Reuter, brother-in-law, Loyd Reuter and good friend Edrol Wagner. Visitation will be on Friday, August 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Foehner Funeral Home in Burton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Johns United Church of Christ in Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Johns United Church of Christ, Burton, TX. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Foehner Funeral Home, Burton, Texas.
