Jerry Salgado

Jerry Lee Salgado, 19, died May 16, 2019 in Brenham.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Monday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel. A Rosary will be celebrated at 7 p.m. with Steve Medina, Officiant.

Jerry Lee Salgado was born September 12, 1999 in Bryan to Monica Alvarado and Francisco Uriostigui Salgado. He was baptized February 18, 2001, and received his first communion April 27, 2008. A graduate of Brenham High School, Jerry was employed as a mechanic.

Jerry enjoyed playing sports, reading, and listening to all types of music. His infectious smile could light up a room, and he radiated love for all those around him, especially his family. He enjoyed playing with his brothers, and was always ready to help his dad at the shop. Drawing portraits of his family was a favorite pastime. His jokes entertained his family, as did his sometimes outrageous choices in outfits. A loving, kind brother to his siblings, he often took time from his busy day to drop off lunch for them. Jerry was, and will always be, the light of the world for his family.

Survivors include his parents, Monica and Francisco Salgado; brothers, Luke Salgado and Erick Salgado; sister Aide Paola Salgado and boyfriend John Rohmer; grandparents: Eliseo and Marcelina Salgado, Socorro Carillo; aunts and uncles: Duane and Becky Ahrens, Maria Salgado, Alex and Maria Aguilar, Lorenzo Salgado, Luis and Imelda Salgado, Rafael and Marlen Salgado, Minerva Salgado, Gregorio and Carmen Rodriguez, Eliseo Salgado, Edgar Rojas, Jorge Alvarado, Adriana Alvarado, as well as numerous cousins and other relatives.

Serving as pallbearers are Duane Ahrens, Seth McCarty, Miguel Bustos, Christian Garcia, Nick Rodriguez, Christian Torres, Adrian Sosa, and Victor Carillo. Honorary pallbearers are Luke Salgado, Erick Salgado, Michael Salgado, Jonathan Salgado, Lionel Salgado, Jr., Terry Stegman, and Rolando Lopez.
