Jerry Warmke

Jerry Lee Warmke, 66, husband of Carolyn Warmke, passed away December 3, 2010 in Scott and White Hospital in Brenham. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives at Memorial Oaks Chapel on Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Born August 7, 1944 in Brenham to Reinhardt and Irma Wiesepape Warmke, Jerry was baptized October 15, 1944 in Salem Lutheran Church of Welcome, and confirmed there March 22, 1959. He attended Wesley area schools and Brenham High School. On June 5, 1965, he married Carolyn Mueller in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem, where he continued membership until his death. Jerry was retired from Leggett and Platt, where he had been employed as a maintenance supervisor for 40 years. Jerry enjoyed family fishing trips and barbecues at the family pond. He was especially fond of spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He took much pride in his cattle and his tractors. A favorite pastime included trips to the Louisiana casinos with his wife, Carolyn. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Warmke, of Brenham; son and daughter-in-law Cabin and Missie Warmke of Brenham; daughter and son-in-law Cammie and Michael Ganske of Brenham; grandchildren: Robin Ganske, Payton Warmke, Caden Warmke, and Hanna Warmke; sister and brother-in-law Florence and Willis Drews of Brenham; sister-in-law and brother-in-law LaNell and Leonard Szymczak, and nephews Darrell Drews and Christopher Szymczak and wife Shanna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhardt and Irma Warmke, an infant brother and sister, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wilfred and Delta Mueller. Serving as pallbearers are Larry Weikel, Billy Schmidt, Chris Szymczak, Darrell Drews, Johnnie Eckert, David Buck, Herbert Mantey, and Craig Wiesepape. Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren: Robin Ganske, Payton Warmke, Caden Warmke, and Hanna Warmke. Memorials may be directed to Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.
