Jessie Florence Schulz, 95, of Brenham, the widow of Eddie Schulz, passed away Sunday, February 29, at Trinity Care Center in Brenham. Jessie was born on January 21, 1909, in Manor, Texas, to Clint and Susan Bailey Hickman. She was baptized and confirmed in Frieden s United Church of Christ of Gay Hill. She was a member of the United Church of Christ of Burton where she married Eddie Schulz on November 7, 1928. Eddie preceded her in death in February 1970. She dearly loved her family and friends. Her enjoyment was ironing, and working with her flowers and her garden. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-laws; LaVern & Clarence Reuter and Floya Ann & Harvey Merten all of Brenham: grandchildren; Susie Reuter & John Bilski, Becky Merten & Darrell Plagens, Jerry & Connie Merten, and Russell Reuter, all of Brenham: great-grandchildren; Nicholas and Jenny Bilski, Eric & Sarah Plagens, Kyle & Kory Merten, Justin and Tara Reuter, all of Brenham; and brother-in-law, Marvin Struck of Burton. devoted special friend; Lenora Koester, special room-mate; Verlin Boecker and two long ago school-mates; Lillie Glaesmann & Lillie Dietrich. She is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends Mrs. Schulz was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Eddie Schulz, brother; Bill Hickman, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; Fritz & Hulda Mueller, Ernest & Alvina Bayer, Fritz & Hilda Schulz, Ernest & Lena Schulz, and Annie Struck. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 1, in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Jessie Florence Schulz will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 2, 2004, in St. John s United Church of Christ of Burton with Pastor Glen Schoeneberg officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Jerry Merten, Russell Reuter, John Bilski, Darrell Plagens, Darrell Kieke, and Ricky Wickel. Honorary pallbearers are her great-grandchildren Nicholas & Jenny Bilski, Eric & Sarah Plagens, Kyle & Kory Merten and Justin & Tara Reuter. Memorials may be given to St. John s United Church of Christ of Burton Building Fund. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham.
