Jim De'Olive

Jim Morgan “J.M.” De’Olive, 95, of Brenham, died June 29, 2017, at his residence.

Visitation with the family will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1 at Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 2 at Memorial Oaks Chapel with Pastor Martin Moore officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Lea Cemetery in Brenham.

Mr. De’Olive was born August 10, 1921, in Huntsville, TX, to Edward Daniel and Mattie (Kane) Dolive. On September 22, 1940, he was married to Mildred Nolte.

Mr. De’Olive and his brother Maurice were co-owners of Service Novelty Co. He was an associate member of the University of Texas Ex-Students Association and enjoyed going to UT football games. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved to sing, especially “Springtime in the Rockies.” Mr. De’Olive was a member of the Graham Lodge 20 AF & AM and Arabia Temple.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Joe E. and Lyn D’Olive of Fort Worth; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia D. and Lloyd H. Quebe of Brenham; brothers and sister-in-law, Don and Lady Jane Dolive of Mesquite and Wayne “Jack” Dolive of Longview; grandchildren, Deborah A. Quebe Morris and husband Scott A., Holly A. Quebe West and husband Steve, Matthew D’Olive and wife Ann and Amy D’Olive Smith and husband Jason; and great-grandchildren, Jared Morris, Hayden Morris, Olivia Morris, Morgan West, Jason West, Spencer D’Olive, Brian Smith, Zach Smith, Draike Smith and Hailie Smith. He is also survived by Verda Bell Westerman, Mary Dalzell and Flora Lee Loescher.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mattie Dolive; wife, Mildred De’Olive; brother, Maurice De’Olive; and sisters, Mary Jenkins and Nanaline Descant.
