Jimmy was born September 8, 1953, in Brenham, TX, to Clamens and Ora Nell (Hahn) Tiemann. On September 25, 1976, he married Cheryl Maass in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.
He was a 1972 graduate of Brenham High School. After graduation, Jimmy went to work at Brenham Wholesale Grocery Company and was employed there until his retirement in June 2017. For 25 years he worked for Design II with his lifelong friend David Folschinsky. He enjoyed meeting all the many new people over the years. He loved cooking beside the late Lillian Folschinsky, learning and telling David on a very busy day, “You should have booked just one more thing.”
Jimmy enjoyed going to deer camp early with the late Clem Baranowski, getting the food cooked up before the other hunters arrived. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church of Salem and over the years served in the junior choir, youth choir and senior choir and on the church council. He enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was a member of Washington County Fair VIP Committee since 2007 and looked forward to the fair each year, especially when Jared was showing his goats, heifers and steers. Jimmy’s catering experience kicked in to make sure Cheryl had everything taken care of. He loved meeting all the people and never met a stranger. He was a past member of Arabia Shrine Temple.
Aydn Tiemann gave Jimmy the awesome title of “Popo”. Aydn always put a smile on Popo’s face, even when the times were difficult. Jimmy took Aydn riding on the tractor to check the cows. Jimmy made sure that he and Aydn had matching Case tractors.
