Jo Ann "Tippy" Schnell Jo Ann Schnell, 77, of Carmine, Texas passed away unexpectedly on October 15, 2011 at her home. Affectionately called "Tippy" by her family, Jo Ann was born July 14, 1934 in Carmine, Texas to Alvina and Herbert John Wickel. Born into a rural working family, Jo Ann quickly learned the value of a close family and hard work, traits that she carried with her all of her life. Tippy''s love of family came first, with her passion for crocheting a close second, and a good game of Yahtzee would have to be third. Tippy taking loved ones'' money in a friendly game of poker was never out of the question either. Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Bill and Dwayne, and daughter Wynona. Jo Ann leaves behind her loving husband of over 40 years, Willie Schnell, brother Jerry and wife Jolene, sister-in law Dotty, children; daughter Dianne and husband Rex, son Marvin "Sonny" and Ruthie, son Donnie and wife Sheilah, son John and wife Donna, daughter Donna and husband Bill, daughter Janet and husband Buddy, son Michael and wife Nancy, 34 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm Tuesday, October 18, 2011 in the chapel of Foehner Funeral Home in Burton, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 10am Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at St. John''s United Church of Christ in Burton, Texas; with burial to follow at LaBahia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. John''s United Church of Christ Building Fund, The American Diabetes Association, or a charity of your choice.
