Joan Kane, 87, widow of Richard Charles Kane, died September 21, 2017 in Houston.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m., Monday, September 25, 2017 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church of Brenham. Pastor Phil Fenton will officiate. Burial will take place in Atkinson Cemetery in Chappell Hill.
Visitation will be prior to the service, from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Joan Kane was born April 28, 1930 in Ft. Worth. A member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, she was also active in the W.E.L.C.A. A 25 year resident of Chappell Hill, Joan loved to play bridge, bunco, and canasta. Traveling was a favorite pastime and she treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Sandra Kane of Ruston, LA, and Rick and Laurie Kane of Sugar Land; sister, Diane Cameron of Houston; grandchildren: Jake Kane, Caroline Kane, and Mackenzie Kane. Other surviving relatives include a niece, Beverly Grice, and great-niece, Shelby Smith.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Kane, and daughter, Lisa Kane.
Serving as pallbearers are Paul Hornsby, Tom Chromcak, Jake Kane,Len Menefee, Larry Groover, and Steve Young.
Memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church T.V. Ministry.
