Joe Wegner

Joe Ella Sis Fairbanks Wegner, 80, of the Clay community, died May 7, 2005, at the family residence. Mrs. Wegner was born January 12, 1925, in the Clay community to John Franklin and Rosa Lee Farquhar Fairbanks. She received her education in the Clay public school and Brenham High School. On July 20, 1973, she was married to Alfred Wegner in Independence, Texas. Mrs. Wegner was a devoted wife, a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her husband, Alfred Wegner of Clay; son and daughter-in-law, David and Debra White of Pasadena, TX; daughter and son-in-law, JoElla and Michael Calliham of College Station, TX; grandchildren, Joseph and Joshua South, Aaron and MaKenna Calliham, and Chris Potts; brothers, Floyd Fairbanks of Humble and Lloyd Fairbanks of Carlos, TX; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elaine Fairbanks of Spring, TX, Edna McKelvey of Austin, TX, Gus and Helen Draeger of Burton, TX, Esther Webb of Dale, TX, Weda Campbell of Huntsville, TX, Jean Wegner of Brenham, TX and Raymond and Patsy Wegner of Brenham, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Marshal, John F., David C. and George W. Fairbanks; Two sisters-in-law and four brothers-in-law. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2005 in the Independence Baptist Church with Pastor D. H. Strickland officiating. Burial will be in the Old Independence Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2005. Pallbearers will be Marshall Fairbanks, Kenny Fairbanks, Mark Fairbanks, John Fairbanks, Lloyd Fairbanks, Jr., Dale Fairbanks, Joseph South and Joshua South. Memorials may be given to Hospice Brazos Valley, 302 East Horton, Brenham, TX 77833. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street, Brenham, TX 77833.
