Joel Lovell

Joel Ernest Lovell, 83, of Bryan, Texas passed away January 25, 2016.

Joel was born June 30, 1932 in Bryan, Texas to Ernest and Aline (Davis) Lovell. Joel attended schools in Cooks Point, Caldwell, Bryan, and graduated from Texas A&M in 1952 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. A number of years later he returned to Texas A&M and obtained both MS and PhD degrees.

Joel served in the U.S. Army during the Cold War and was honorably discharged.

Joel is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Jenny Abel and her husband James, a niece Roberta Abel Perdue, and a sister-in-law Sylvia Lovell.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Annie Lovell, son Gene Lovell and wife Laurel, son Ronnie Lovell and wife Lacey. Also surviving are children of heart Joyce Moore and husband Matthew Comaitos, Dale Moore and wife Patti, brothers J. B. Lovell and wife Ella, and Richard Lovell, a sister Ann Forsthoff and husband Robert , an uncle Robert Davis, former daughter-in-law Jill Lovell and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, and a host of friends.

Visitation will be from 1 until 2 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4529 Wiedeville Church Road, Brenham, Texas 77833, with the funeral service following at 2:00pm Saturday, January 30. Interment will follow the service at the same location.
