John Kolbe, Jr.

John W. Bubba Kolbe, Jr. 67, of Brenham died in his home on Saturday morning, January 15, 2005. A longtime resident of Brenham, Mr. Kolbe was a partner in Citizen s Pharmacy where he served as general manager. Mr. Kolbe was born September 25, 1937 in Spring Branch, Texas to John Walter and Hattie Ida Oberpriller Kolbe. He was baptized and confirmed in the Spring Branch Evangelical Lutheran Church. He attended elementary school in Spring Branch and graduated from Cypress High School. Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Eula Mae & Duane Shadley of Fulshear, TX; his aunt, Ruby Kolbe; best friend, Chris Schroeder and good friends, Dr. Gerald & Nan Zernial. The family will receive visitors Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The funeral service for Bubba will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 18, 2005, in Memorial Oaks Chapel. The burial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday in Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston. Memorials may be made to Hospice or the donor s favorite charity.
